Online platforms' content moderation: towards a new approach?

Live debate with Werner Stengg and MEP Tiemo Wölken

This webinar discusses Europe’s online content moderation policy and the recommendations made by the team led by Prof. Alexandre de Streel (CERRE and University of Namur) in a recent study for the IMCO Committee ‘Online platforms' moderation of illegal content online: law, practices and options for reform’. It provides recommendations to improve the EU legal framework against the backdrop of the forthcoming Digital Services Act .

After a short presentation of the study, we debate the matter with MEP Tiemo Wölken (S&D, JURI Committee, DSA initiative report Rapporteur), and Werner Stengg (Cabinet member, Executive Vice President Margrethe Vestager).

CERRE Research Fellow Sally Broughton Micova (Lecturer, University of East Anglia) moderates the discussion.
